Your Children's Book Could Win: Free Publishing + $1,000 Advance
Sarah Hoggatt
Do you have a great idea for a children’s book or do you already have a manuscript tucked away in a drawer? Here is a great opportunity for your book to be published!
Southwest Human Development, a nonprofit offering programs in early childhood development, are publishing a book in late spring for babies and toddlers in an effort to support early literacy. Now seeking submissions of children’s book manuscripts from writers across the United States, the author of the winning submission will have their book professionally illustrated, published, and promoted by the organization. The winning author will also receive a $1,000 advance and an 8% royalty on sales. The book will be sold using a "one for one" model similar to that of Tom's Shoes: for every book sold, SWHD will give a book to a child who otherwise might not have a book of their own.
The manuscript contest opened July 15th and goes until September 15th. You can find details including submission guidelines at: http://www.firsteditionproject.com.
